History of Arcillera
Ancient Discoveries
Arcillera has a fascinating history. In the early 1900s, something very special was found here. It was a collection of ancient treasures.
The Celtic Hoard
This treasure was a "hoard" (a hidden collection) of silver jewelry. It also included ancient Roman coins called denarii. These items were made by the Celts, an ancient group of people.
The hoard is believed to be from around 20 BC. That means it is over 2,000 years old! Most of these amazing items are now kept safe. You can see them in the collections of the famous British Museum in London.
