These herons often build their nests in groups with other types of herons. This is called a mixed-species heronries. A female heron usually lays 3 to 6 eggs. The eggs are a pretty blue-green color.
Are They Endangered?
The Chinese pond heron is quite common. It is not considered a threatened species by the IUCN. This means there are plenty of them around, which is great news!
