Ariella Hernandez Arida (born November 20, 1988), also known as Ara Arida, is a Filipino actress, model, and beauty queen. She won the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2013. She then represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2013 competition. There, she placed as the 3rd Runner-Up, which is a great achievement!

About Ariella Arida
Her Early Life and School
Ariella Hernandez Arida was born in Alaminos, Laguna, Philippines. Her parents, Arlesito and Estella Arida, were both academics. Ariella studied at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She earned a degree in chemistry. Before becoming a famous beauty queen, she joined other pageants. She competed in Miss Philippines Earth 2012 and was also a Binibining Laguna contestant. Ariella is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo.

Ariella Arida is well-known for her success in beauty pageants. She competed in some of the biggest contests in the Philippines and worldwide.
Miss Philippines Earth 2012
Ariella first joined the Miss Philippines Earth 2012 pageant. This competition focuses on environmental awareness. Although she competed, she did not place in this pageant. Stephany Stefanowitz won the title that year.
Binibining Pilipinas 2013
In 2013, Ariella entered the 50th Binibining Pilipinas pageant. This is a very important beauty contest in the Philippines. During the question and answer part, she was asked about what women can teach men.
She answered that women can teach men about being sensitive. She explained that men often think logically. Women, however, tend to use their hearts and emotions more. She felt that sensitivity is a valuable lesson women can share.
Ariella won the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2013. She also received the award for Best in Swimsuit. The event took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 14, 2013. She was crowned by Janine Tugonon, who was Miss Universe Philippines 2012. Other winners crowned that night included Bea Rose Santiago and Mutya Johanna Datul. Pia Wurtzbach was also a runner-up.
On March 30, 2014, Ariella passed on her crown. She crowned Mary Jean Lastimosa as the new Miss Universe Philippines. This happened at the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 pageant.
Miss Universe 2013
Ariella represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant. This big international competition was held in Moscow, Russia. It took place on November 9, 2013. She earned a spot in the semifinals through an online vote. She also won the Ice Princess award in a special glam shot competition.
During the question and answer part of Miss Universe, she was asked about job shortages for young people. She said that people should invest in education. She believes education is key to getting good jobs and a better future.
Ariella finished as the 3rd Runner-Up in the competition. Gabriela Isler from Venezuela won the Miss Universe title. This was the fourth year in a row that the Philippines placed in the Top 5. Ariella was also the only contestant from an Asian country to reach the Top 5 that year.
