Arkelstorp is a small town, also called a locality, in Sweden. It is located in Kristianstad Municipality within Skåne County. At the end of 2010, about 768 people lived there.
About Arkelstorp's Name
The name Arkelstorp has an interesting history! In the 1570s, it was written as Archilstorp. The name comes from a nearby village. The word torp means 'new building' or 'small farm'. The first part of the name, Arnketil, was a man's name. So, Arkelstorp means something like 'Arnketil's new farm'. The town started growing more after a railway station opened there in 1885.
