Arlöv is a town in Skåne County, Sweden. It is the main town of Burlöv Municipality. Arlöv is very close to the larger city of Malmö. It is about 5 kilometers northeast of Malmö's city center.
Even though Arlöv is part of the bigger Malmö urban area, it is its own town. In the 1950s, people voted to keep Burlöv Municipality separate from Malmö. About 11,000 people live in Arlöv.

What is Arlöv Known For?
Arlöv is famous for its sugar industry. A big sugar company called Sockerbolaget AB used to be here. It was owned by a Danish company named Danisco.
The town was also home to a company called AB Svenska Järnvägsverkstäderna (ASJ). This company built railway parts. In the 1970s, ASJ even helped build cars for SAAB. They made models like the Saab Sonett II and III.
Important Buildings in Arlöv
The Arlöv Church was built in 1900. It has a special style called Neo-Gothic. The church was built to serve the growing number of people in the town.
Sports in Arlöv
Arlöv once had a place for motorcycle racing called the Arlövs Motorstadion. This track was used in the 1930s, 1940s, and early 1950s. It was the first speedway track in the Malmö area. Races took place around a football field near Hamngatan road.
Famous People From Arlöv
Many notable people come from Arlöv. These include the rock artist Kal P. Dal. The famous footballer Pontus Jansson also grew up here. Author Amanda Svensson is another well-known person from Arlöv.
