Armand de Las Cuevas (born June 26, 1968 – died August 2, 2018) was a famous French racing cyclist. He was known for his speed and strength, especially in races against the clock. These are called individual time trials.
Armand won many important races during his career. He was a champion in events like the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré and the Clásica de San Sebastián. He was very good at winning the first parts of races, called prologues, and also individual time trials.
In the 1994 Giro d'Italia, a very big cycling race, he won one stage. He also finished 9th overall in that race, which was a great achievement. He also won a bronze medal in track cycling at the 1990 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Japan. This shows he was good at both road and track racing.
Armand de Las Cuevas stopped racing in 1999. He then moved to Réunion, an island that is part of France. There, he started a special school to teach young people how to cycle.
