Armstrong is a small, spread-out community in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. It's not part of a city or town government. Instead, it's managed by a special group called a local services board. This board helps with things like fire protection and garbage collection.
Armstrong is also an important stop on the Canadian National Railway's main train line that crosses Canada. The Whitesand First Nation's Armstrong Settlement is right next to this community. Many people visit Armstrong in the summer for fun activities like fishing and hunting.

A place called Canadian Forces Station Armstrong used to be located about 1.1 kilometers (0.7 miles) east of Armstrong. This military base closed in 1974. Later that year, it was sold to private owners. They turned it into a popular spot for the town, with a restaurant, a bar, a hotel, apartments, garages, and a curling rink. This area was known as D&L. However, D&L closed and was left empty in 1993, and it remains that way today.

For your daily needs, there's a Mini Mart gas station and motel, and the Armstrong General Store. This general store used to be called J&J General Store from 1961 to 2015.
