Arraia-Maeztu is a small area in northern Spain. It is located in a region called the Basque Country. This area is known as a municipality, which means it has its own local government.
Arraia-Maeztu was created in 1958. It was formed when three smaller areas joined together. These areas were Apellániz, Arraya, and Laminoria. At first, the municipality was just called Maestu. But in 1987, it got its current name, Arraia-Maeztu.

Famous People from Arraia-Maeztu
- Juan Bautista de Gámiz (1696–1773): He was a Jesuit priest and a poet. He mostly wrote in Spanish. But some of his poems were in Basque, which is the language of the Basque Country. These Basque poems are very important for learning about the history of the Basque language.
