Arthur Frank Warren, born on March 23, 1993, is an American baseball player. He is a pitcher, which means he throws the ball to the batter. He has played for teams like the Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds in Major League Baseball (MLB). He is currently a free agent, meaning he is not signed to a team.
Career
Amateur career
Art Warren went to Napoleon High School in Ohio. He played college baseball at the University of Cincinnati and Ashland University. In 2015, the Seattle Mariners picked him in the baseball draft. This was his first step toward playing professionally.
Seattle Mariners
Warren started his professional career with the Arizona League Mariners. He pitched well, striking out many batters. In 2016, he played for the Clinton LumberKings and then the Bakersfield Blaze. He had a great year, winning 11 games and only losing 2. He continued playing for Bakersfield in 2017.
In 2018, Warren played for the Arkansas Travelers. He had a low ERA, which means he didn't give up many runs. However, he was injured and could not play much. He returned to Arkansas in 2019 and continued to pitch very well.
The Mariners called Warren up to the major leagues on September 10, 2019. He made his first MLB appearance on September 12 against the Cincinnati Reds. He pitched a short time without giving up any runs. In October 2020, the Texas Rangers claimed him. Later, in December, the Rangers let him go.
Cincinnati Reds
In January 2021, Warren was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. He pitched very well for the Reds, with a low ERA and many strikeouts. In August, he had an oblique injury, which is a muscle injury. This put him on the injured list for a while.
On May 15, 2022, Warren helped pitch in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds' starting pitcher, Hunter Greene, had not allowed any hits. Warren came into the game and also did not allow any hits. However, the Pirates scored one run, and they won the game. Later in 2022, Warren had surgery on his throwing elbow. This type of surgery helps fix a ligament in the elbow. After the season, he became a free agent.
New York Yankees
In December 2022, Warren signed a deal with the New York Yankees. He played in their minor league system in 2024. He pitched for the Tampa Tarpons and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. In August 2024, the Yankees released him.
