Arthur Gregory Slade (born July 9, 1967, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian author. He grew up on a ranch in the Cypress Hills and started writing in high school. Today, he lives in Saskatoon.

About Arthur Slade

Arthur Slade studied English at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. After finishing his degree in 1989, he had his first short story published. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked different jobs. He was a night auditor at a hotel and also a copywriter for a radio station in Saskatoon for several years.

Becoming a Full-Time Author

Arthur Slade became a full-time author after his first novel for young readers, Draugr, was published. He has written many other popular books since then, including Dust and Tribes. His book Dust won the important Governor General's Award for Children's Literature in 2001. Later, in 2010, his novel The Hunchback Assignments received the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award.
