Playing for the Philadelphia Eagles
Artis Hicks joined the Philadelphia Eagles in April 2002. He signed with them as an undrafted free agent. This means he was not picked during the NFL Draft. However, the Eagles still wanted him on their team. He was part of the active roster for the entire 2002 season.
In 2003, Hicks got his first chance to start a game. This happened when the Eagles played against the New York Giants. In April 2004, Hicks signed a new contract with the Eagles. This contract was for multiple years. He became the starting left guard for the 2004 season. He even played in Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.
