Arve Isdal (born August 28, 1977), also known as Ice Dale, is a musician and producer from Norway. He is famous for being the lead guitarist in two bands: Enslaved, an extreme metal band, and Audrey Horne, a hard rock band.
Arve Isdal also owns a music studio called Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen, Norway. He runs it with Herbrand Larsen, a former member of Enslaved. Besides making music and producing, Arve teaches music production at a school called Noroff.
He has released many albums with his bands. Arve has also won six Spellemann Awards, which are important music awards in Norway. Five of these awards were with Enslaved and one with Audrey Horne.

Arve Isdal's Music Journey
Arve Isdal first loved hard rock bands like Kiss, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. He also enjoyed progressive rock bands such as Pink Floyd and King Crimson. Later, he discovered heavy metal music.
In the mid-1990s, Arve joined his first band, Malignant Eternal. This was an extreme metal group. He played on their album Alarm in 1999.
Joining Enslaved and Audrey Horne
In 2002, Arve Isdal joined Enslaved. This band plays a type of music called extreme metal. He has been on ten studio albums with them. His first album with Enslaved was Below the Lights in 2003.
Also in 2002, Arve became a member of the hard rock band Audrey Horne. He has released seven albums with this band. From 2002 to 2003, he also toured with Paul Di'Anno, who used to sing for the famous band Iron Maiden.
Other Music Projects
In 2006, Arve Isdal was part of a special black metal group called I. This group included famous musicians like Abbath from Immortal and King from Gorgoroth. They released one album called Between Two Worlds. They also played one live show at the Hole in the Sky Festival.
In 2007, he released an album with a glam metal band called Bourbon Flame. Arve also formed a side project called Trinacria with members from Enslaved and Fe-Mail. They released the album Travel Now Journey Infinitely in 2008. That same year, he played live with the band Gorgoroth for their summer tour.
In 2009, Arve and other Enslaved members lent their voices to an episode of the cartoon show Metalocalypse. In 2010, Arve played guitar on the Ov Hell album The Underworld Regime. The next year, he played guitar and bass on Demonaz's solo album March of the Norse.
In the early 2010s, Arve recorded an album with a group called Temple Of The Black Moon. This group included famous musicians from bands like Cradle of Filth and Anthrax. However, this album was never released. In 2012, a live album of Gorgoroth's 2008 performance was released under the name God Seed.
More recently, in 2021, Arve played acoustic guitar on a song called "Hardanger" by Ivar Bjørnson and Einar Selvik. In late 2022, he toured as a bassist with Abbath's band. He also produced and played bass on Immortal's 2023 album, War Against All.
