Ashby is a suburb located in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. It is about 26 kilometers (16 miles) north of Perth's main city area. Ashby is part of the City of Wanneroo, which is its local government area. This means the City of Wanneroo helps manage services for Ashby residents.
Ashby was created in the late 1990s. It used to be part of the nearby suburb of Wanneroo. In 1997, it was officially named Ashby. The name honors Mr. E. E. Ashby, who owned land in this area back in 1913.
