Tapping is a suburb located in Perth, Western Australia. It is part of the City of Wanneroo. Tapping began in the early 1990s. It was originally a new part of the Wanneroo area.
The name Tapping was chosen to honor an early family. This family settled in the Wanneroo area. William Tapping arrived in 1886. Molly and Dolly Tapping worked as postmistresses for many years. The suburb's name was officially approved in 1997.

Where is Tapping Located?
Tapping has clear boundaries around it. Joondalup Drive is to the north. Pinjar Road is to the east. Conti Road marks the southern edge. Wanneroo Road is to the west.

In 2011, Tapping had 8,946 people living there. This was a big jump from 2001. In 2001, only 229 people lived in Tapping. More houses were built on land once used for farming. This caused the population to grow a lot.
The average age of people in Tapping was 30 years old. Most people said they had no religion (25.3%). Other common religions were Anglican (23.7%) and Catholic (22.0%).
