Ashley Cleveland, born on February 2, 1957, is an American singer and songwriter. She is well-known for singing background vocals and for her gospel music. Ashley was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Ashley Cleveland's Music Journey
Ashley Cleveland has had a long and successful music career. In 1987, she sang the song "We're Gonna Win This One" for the movie Ernest Goes to Camp.
She has lent her voice to more than 300 albums. Some of these albums have even won Dove Awards. These include Songs from the Loft (1994) and The Jesus Record (1998) by Rich Mullins and A Ragamuffin Band.
Ashley also performed on many TV shows as part of John Hiatt's band. These shows included Austin City Limits, Late Night with David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, and Saturday Night Live.
In 2005, the famous musician Steve Winwood sang a duet with Ashley. He also played the Hammond B3 organ on her song "I Need Thee Every Hour". This song was on her album Men and Angels Say.

Ashley Cleveland has won several important awards for her music. She was the first female artist to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rock Gospel category. She won this award three times:
