Ashton is a small city located in the eastern part of Spink County, in the state of South Dakota, United States. In 2020, about 108 people lived there.
History
Ashton was first started in 1879. But just two years later, in 1881, the town was moved to its current spot. This happened so it could be right next to a new railroad line. The town probably got its name from Ashton, England. A post office has been open in Ashton since 1879.
