Playing in Latvia
Ashton Mitchell signed with BK Liepājas Lauvas in Latvia. This was for the 2010–2011 basketball season. It was his first professional team.
Time with the Vipers
In November 2011, Ashton Mitchell joined a team in the United States. He was acquired by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. This team is part of the NBA Development League, which is now called the G League. He played with them for a few months. In January 2012, he left the Vipers.
