Atwater is a small, unincorporated community located in the town of Chester. You can find it in Dodge County, within the state of Wisconsin in the United States.
An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government. Instead, it's usually part of a larger town or county.
Atwater was not always called by its current name. It was originally known as Mill Creek. However, in 1856, a settler who came from a place called Atwater, Ohio decided to change the name. That's how this Wisconsin community got its unique name!
