Chester is a small town in Dodge County, Wisconsin. In the year 2000, about 960 people lived there. Two smaller communities, Atwater and East Waupun, are also part of the town.

The area where Chester is located has a long history. A post office was opened in Chester in 1847. It served the community for many years before closing in 1918. The town was given its name after Chester, Massachusetts, another place in the United States.
