History of Auburn
Auburn became an official city in 1892. This happened shortly after a railroad line was built through the area. The railroad helped the city grow and connect with other places.
Geography of Auburn
Auburn is in the western part of Barrow County. It's about 42 miles (68 km) northeast of Atlanta, a big city in Georgia. It's also about 27 miles (43 km) west of Athens.
