August Onorato Curley (born January 24, 1960) is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL). He was picked by the Lions in the 1983 NFL draft. He also played college football at the University of Southern California.

August Curley was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 24, 1960. He went to Southwest High School in Atlanta, Georgia.
Playing for the USC Trojans
He played college football for the USC Trojans. This is the team from the University of Southern California. He played from 1978 to 1982. He was a "letterman" for three years. This means he played well enough to earn a special award.
The 1978 USC Trojans football team was very successful. They were named national champions by the Coaches Poll. This is a big honor in college football. In 1980, August Curley made one interception. An interception is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player.
