Aurelija Mikušauskaitė (born July 17, 1937, in Kaunas, Lithuania – died January 2, 1974, in Vilnius) was a talented Lithuanian actress. She performed in films, on television, and in plays.

Her Life and Career

Aurelija Mikušauskaitė started her journey in 1951 by studying at Kaunas Medical School. She finished her studies there in 1955, becoming a paramedic-obstetrician.

But her real passion was acting! In 1956, she joined the Lithuanian State Conservatory. She graduated with top honors in 1960, earning a Master of Arts degree in Acting.

Right after graduating in 1960, Aurelija and her classmates started working for the State Radio and Television Committee. They helped create early television theatre. Aurelija put all her energy into this new type of acting. She played many roles in television shows and "Clubs of Literary Heroes." She also loved reading poetry aloud.

Aurelija also performed in radio plays and even worked as a TV announcer for a while. In 1965, she began working at the State Youth Theatre of Lithuania. Even while at the theatre, she often returned to TV and radio for performances. Her last TV role was in a play called "The Choice," which came out in January 1973.

Aurelija Mikušauskaitė was buried in the Panemunė cemetery in Kaunas.
