Nâzım Hikmet Ran (born January 15, 1902 – died June 3, 1963), often called Nâzım Hikmet, was a famous Turkish writer. He was a poet, someone who writes plays (a playwright), and a writer of long stories (a novelist). People loved his poems because they had a beautiful, flowing rhythm.
Nâzım Hikmet often faced trouble because of his political ideas. He spent a lot of his adult life either in prison or living away from his home country. Even so, his amazing poems have been translated into more than fifty different languages around the world!
