History of Aurora Springs
Aurora Springs was first planned out in 1880. It got its name from a special mineral spring that was close to where the community began. A mineral spring is a natural place where water comes out of the ground. This water often has minerals dissolved in it.
A post office opened in Aurora Springs in 1882. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. The post office stayed open until 1912. The U.S. Census Bureau officially recognized Aurora Springs as a census-designated place before the 2020 census.
