Awful End (known in the US as A House Called Awful End) is a funny children's novel by Philip Ardagh. It was published in 2000 and is the first book in the exciting Eddie Dickens series. The story continues in the next book, Dreadful Acts.
This book was nominated for the Stockton Children's Book of the Year Award in 2002. Its German translation, done by Harry Rowohlt, even won a big award called the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2003.
