Early Life and Youth Career
Aydın Yılmaz was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1988. He started playing football at a young age. At just 9 years old, he tried out for the Galatasaray youth team.
In 2001, Aydın officially joined Galatasaray's junior team. He even played for Galatasaray in the Danone Championship in 2002.
Club Career Highlights
Starting at Galatasaray
Aydın made his first appearance for Galatasaray in the Süper Lig on January 22, 2006. He came into the game as a substitute against Konyaspor. In that match, he scored a winning goal in the very last minute. This important goal helped Galatasaray win the league title in 2006. On June 4, 2008, he signed a new 5-year contract with Galatasaray.
Loan Spells
Aydın also played for other teams on loan to gain more experience.
- In the 2007-08 season, he was loaned to Manisaspor.
- Later in the 2007-08 season, he played seven games for Istanbul BB on loan. He played well and returned to Galatasaray at the end of the season.
- For the 2009-10 season, Aydın was loaned to Eskişehirspor. After his loan ended, he went back to Galatasaray.

2011–12 Season Success
In the 2011–12 season, Aydın played a key role in some matches. In a game against Mersin İdman Yurdu, he helped his team win by earning a penalty. He also scored a goal in the Sivasspor match. He dedicated this goal to his newborn daughter. He played 15 league matches and was part of the team that won the championship that season.
2012–13 Season and Champions League
For the 2012–13 Süper Lig season, Aydın was an important substitute player. He played in 17 league games and 2 Turkish Cup matches. He also played in the Champions League for Galatasaray. He scored a very important goal against Sporting Braga in Portugal. This goal helped Galatasaray move on to the knockout stage of the competition.
International Career
Aydın Yılmaz also represented his country, Turkey. He played for the Turkish Under-17 team. This team finished 4th in the 2005 world youth championship held in Peru.
On October 4, 2008, he was called up to the Turkish national team. He made his first appearance for the senior national team on October 16, 2012. This was during a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Hungary.
