Early Life and Education

Ayub K. Ommaya was born in 1930. His birthplace was Mian Channu Tehsil, which was part of British India at the time. Today, this area is in Pakistan. He was a very smart student and chose to study medicine. He became very interested in how the brain works.

A Journey Across Continents

In 1956, Dr. Ommaya moved to Oxford, England. He continued his medical training and research there. Later, in 1961, he moved to the United States. He worked as a neurosurgeon and researcher for many years. After becoming ill, he moved back to Islamabad, Pakistan, with his wife in 2005. He passed away there in 2008.

The Ommaya Reservoir: A Big Help for Patients
