When the Arena Opened
The Aʼnowaraʼko꞉wa Arena was built in 1995. Since then, it has been a popular spot for many sports events. It hosts both hockey and lacrosse games.
Teams That Play Here
Many teams have called this arena home. Currently, the Akwesasne Indians play their games here. They are part of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League.
Other teams have played at the arena in the past. The Akwesasne Warriors hockey team played here. They were part of the Federal Hockey League until 2012. The Akwesasne Wolves also played hockey here from 1998 to 2015.
Big Games and Events
The arena has also hosted special events. In November 2022, the National Lacrosse League held three preseason games here. This brought professional lacrosse action to the community.
