About Bárður Oskarsson
Bárður loved drawing from a young age. Some of his early drawings even appeared in a children's magazine called Barnablaðið in the Faroe Islands.
His first job as an illustrator was for his grandfather's children's book, "Undir tussafjøllum". After illustrating books for other writers for a few years, Bárður decided to write and illustrate his own book in 2004. This book was called Ein hundur ein ketta og ein mús (which means A dog, a cat, and a mouse). It became very popular and was translated into many languages, like French, Icelandic, Danish, and Norwegian.
Bárður has won several awards for his children's books from the Faroe Islands, Nordic countries, and Germany. He lives in Denmark now. He studied art there at a school called "Skolen for Billedkunst" in the early 1990s.
