Baek A-yeon (백아연) is a talented South Korean singer and songwriter. She was born on March 11, 1993. She is well-known for being one of the top contestants on the TV competition show K-pop Star.
As a solo artist, Baek A-yeon has released five extended play albums and many singles. After her contract with JYP Entertainment ended in 2019, she joined Eden Entertainment.

About Baek A-yeon's Early Life
Baek A-yeon was born in Seongnam, South Korea. When she was in elementary school, she received medical treatment. She later studied Practical Music at Howon University.
Baek A-yeon's Music Journey
Starting with K-Pop Star
Baek A-yeon first became famous by joining the TV show K-pop Star in 2011. She was one of the top three contestants, showing off her amazing singing skills. After the show, many music companies wanted to sign her. She decided to join JYP Entertainment, which was the company of one of the K-pop Star judges, JYP.
First Albums and TV Songs
Baek A-yeon released her first album, called I'm Baek, on September 10, 2012. It had five songs, including her main song "Sad Song." She performed her songs "Stay" and "Sad Song" on the music show Inkigayo to officially start her career.
In December 2012, she sang "Daddy Long Legs" for the TV drama Cheongdam-dong Alice. In April 2013, she sang "Introduction to Love" for the drama When a Man Falls in Love.
Her second album, A Good Girl, came out on June 17, 2013, with the song "A Good Boy" as the main track. A month later, she sang "Tears Are Also Love" for the drama Goddess of Fire. In 2014, she released more songs for TV dramas like "The Three Things I Have Left" for Angel Eyes and "Morning of Canon" for You Are My Destiny.
Becoming a Popular Artist
On May 20, 2015, Baek A-yeon released her first single that she wrote herself, called "Shouldn't Have." It featured Young K from the band Day6. This song became a huge hit, reaching number one on many music charts in Korea. She started performing the song on music shows in June. Later that year, she sang "So We Are" for the drama Yong-pal.
In May 2016, she released another digital single, "So-So," which she also wrote. This song also became very popular, topping music charts quickly. In November 2016, she released a holiday song called "Just Because," featuring JB from Got7.
Her third album, Bittersweet, was released on May 29, 2017. This led to people calling her the "May Queen" because she often released new music in May. The album had six songs, including "Sweet Lies" with the vocal group The Barberettes. Critics praised Bittersweet for its high quality.
Baek A-yeon's fourth album, Dear Me, came out on November 21, 2018. It featured the main song "Sorry To Myself" and five other tracks. She also took on a role in Korea's first virtual reality (VR) musical film, "Anna, Mari."
On September 16, 2019, Baek A-yeon's contract with JYP Entertainment ended, and she decided to leave the company. On December 7, she announced that she had joined Eden Entertainment.
Her fifth album, Observe, was planned for July 2021, but it was delayed. It was later released on September 7, 2021. In August 2022, she released the song "Doctor" for the Pokémon Exhibition Track. In October 2022, she renewed her contract with Eden Entertainment.
Baek A-yeon's Personal Life
Baek A-yeons agency confirmed in February 2023 that she was in a relationship. On March 2, 2023, she shared that she would be getting married. She married her husband on August 12, 2023.
In April 2024, Baek A-yeon announced she was expecting a baby. She gave birth to her daughter on September 12, 2024.
