In 2020, about 4,467 people lived in Bagdad. This was more than the 3,761 people who lived there in 2010. Bagdad is part of the larger Pensacola area.

History of Bagdad

Bagdad started around 1840. This was when a settler built a sawmill in the area. A sawmill is a place where logs are cut into lumber.

The community got its own post office in 1887. It has been called Bagdad ever since.
