History of Bainbridge
Bainbridge was first planned out in 1831. The town was named after William Bainbridge, a well-known war hero from that time. A post office opened in Bainbridge in 1835, helping people send and receive mail. The town officially became an incorporated town in 1847. Not far from Bainbridge is Big Walnut Creek, which was recognized as a special National Natural Landmark in 1985.
