Balaclava (pronounced Bal-a-klah-va) is a small village in the Southern Highlands area of New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Wingecarribee Shire, about 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) northeast of the town of Mittagong.
Balaclava is considered one of the "Northern Villages" of the Southern Highlands. It is often seen as part of Braemar, along with its nearby neighbor Willow Vale. Even though it's a small place, Balaclava has some useful services. These include a service station, a real estate office, a pre-school, a plant nursery, a doctor's surgery, and an antiques store.
