Barbara Ann Reynolds, born on August 17, 1942, is an important African-American journalist and writer. She is well-known for her book about Jesse Jackson, called Jesse Jackson, the Man, the Myth, and the Movement. This book came out in 1975.

Barbara Ann Reynolds: A Life of Writing

Barbara Ann Reynolds has written for many newspapers and magazines. These include the Cleveland Press, Ebony magazine, Chicago Today, and the Chicago Tribune. At the Chicago Tribune, she worked as a reporter in Washington, D.C., until 1980.

While working for the Tribune, she reported on Jesse Jackson. At first, they were good friends. Later, her work became more professional. She then wrote her famous book about him. She later updated this book, calling it Jesse Jackson, America's David.

Barbara Ann Reynolds also wrote a regular column for USA Today until 1996. She has written other books too. One book is And Still We Rise: Interviews with 50 Black Role Models. In 1998, she released No, I Won’t Shut Up: 30 Years of Telling It Like It Is. This book had a special introduction written by Coretta Scott King. In 2005, she wrote her own life story, called Out of Hell and Living Well.

Besides writing about important social topics, Barbara Ann Reynolds is also a Pentecostal minister. She serves in Washington, D.C..
