Barbara Darrow (born November 18, 1931 – died August 26, 2018) was an American actress. She starred in both movies and TV shows.

Early Life
Barbara Darrow was born in Hollywood, California. Her dad, George H. Wittlinger, was an artist who worked on movie sets. Her mom, Alice Simpson Wittlinger, used to be an actress in silent movies. Barbara went to Hollywood High School.
Acting Career
Barbara started her career as a model. This led to her getting offers for movie roles. In 1950, she signed a seven-year contract with RKO Studios.
Movies
During the 1950s, Barbara mostly acted in "B-movies." These were films made with smaller budgets. Some of her well-known movies include The Monster That Challenged The World and Queen of Outer Space. She also appeared in The Mountain with actor Spencer Tracy.
Television Shows
Barbara Darrow also had many roles on television. She played Nurse Forester in the medical drama Doctors' Hospital. She also made guest appearances in popular TV shows of the 1950s. These included The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, Bachelor Father, and Peter Gunn.
Personal Life
In 1956, Barbara married Thomas David Tannenbaum. His father was the mayor of Beverly Hills, California. Thomas later became the first president of Viacom, a big media company. They were married until his death in 2001 and had three children.
Barbara's youngest daughter, Audrey, married Dodd Darin. Dodd was the son of famous singers Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee. Barbara's son, Eric Tannenbaum, became a successful TV producer. He was an executive producer for the show Two and a Half Men.
Barbara's uncle, John Darrow, was also in the entertainment business. He was a silent-film star who later became a talent agent. Barbara used his last name as her stage name. Her older sister, Madelyn Darrow, was a model and married tennis player Pancho Gonzales.
Later Years
Barbara Darrow passed away on August 26, 2018, in Los Angeles, California. She is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
