Barbara Meier (born on July 25, 1986) is a German fashion model and actress. She became famous after winning the second season of the TV show Germany's Next Topmodel.

Early Life and Education
Barbara Meier was born in Amberg, a small town in Bavaria, Germany. When she was younger, she didn't plan to become a model. After finishing school, she went to the Fachhochschule Regensburg to study mathematics.
Career Highlights
Winning Germany's Next Topmodel
While she was studying, a model scout saw Barbara in a shopping center. The scout invited her to try out for the TV show Germany's Next Topmodel. On the show, Barbara faced many challenges against other contestants. She had no modeling experience before this.
Even before the show ended, she won a small competition. This prize was a main role in a TV commercial for McDonald's with Heidi Klum. Barbara won the entire season on May 24, 2007. She beat 16,421 other people! Her prize included a contract with IMG Models in Paris. She also appeared on the cover of the German Cosmopolitan magazine in August 2007. Plus, she got a contract to be the face of an advertising campaign for the clothing company C&A.

In summer 2011, Barbara studied at the New York Film Academy. Since then, she has taken private acting lessons in Germany and the United States. She has played small roles in TV films. She also had main roles in various ZDF crime series and short films. In 2012, she played a main role in the short film Wiegenlied. This film premiered in 2012 at a film festival in Poland.
In August 2017, Barbara filmed her first movie, The Aspern Papers. This was a historical drama based on a novel by Henry James. She acted alongside stars like Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Authoring a Book
In December 2015, Barbara Meier's book Dein Weg zum Glücksgewicht was published. She calls it an "anti-diet book." Her goal is to help women feel better about their bodies and motivate them.
Charity Work and Advocacy
Barbara Meier is involved in many charity and awareness campaigns. In 2008, she was an ambassador for the Year of Mathematics. This role was given to her by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In 2012, she was an advertising ambassador for the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
