Barbara Ambas "Barbie" Forteza (born July 31, 1997) is a talented Filipino actress, singer, and TV host. She is known as the Kapuso Primetime Princess. Barbie has starred in many popular movies and TV shows.
Some of her well-known movies include Mariquina (2014) and Laut (2016). She is also famous for playing strong characters in TV dramas. These include The Half Sisters (2014) and Meant to Be (2017).

Barbie's Early Life and School
Barbara Ambas Forteza was born on July 31, 1997. Her parents are Imelda Ambas and Tony Forteza. She grew up in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines. Barbie also has a sister named Gabrielle Forteza-Vierneza.
She finished high school in 2015 through a special program. The next year, she started college. She studied Psychology at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Calamba Campus. She also took some classes in criminology during her first year.
Barbie's Acting Career
Barbie Forteza started her TV career at age 12. Her first role was playing young Jodi in Stairway to Heaven. This was a Filipino version of a South Korean TV show.
She then got her first main role as Cyndi Gomez in First Time. Barbie also appeared in movies like Tween Academy: Class of 2012 and The Road. For her role in the indie film Puntod, she won an award as the New Movie Actress of the Year.
In 2013, Barbie released her own music album. It was called Barbie Forteza and featured the song Meron Ba. This song was used as a theme for a TV show.
In 2014, Barbie starred in the TV series The Half Sisters. This show was very popular and ran for almost two years. That same year, she won an award for Best Supporting Actress at the 10th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. This was for her role in the movie Mariquina.
Barbie won the Best Actress Award at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival in 2016. She earned this for her role as a sea gypsy in the movie Laut.
In 2022, she became even more famous for her role in Maria Clara at Ibarra. Her on-screen pairing with actor David Licauco was very popular. They continued to work together in the movie That Kind of Love. They also appeared in TV projects like Maging Sino Ka Man and Pulang Araw.

Barbie Forteza loves to help others. In 2014, she celebrated her birthday with children at the Philippine Children Medical Center.
She is also a goodwill ambassador for Smile Train Philippines. This organization helps children with cleft lip and palate. In 2018, she visited their Christmas party and brought gifts for the kids.
In 2024, Barbie and David Licauco became ambassadors for Save the Children Philippines. This group works to improve the lives of children.
