While there, he played for the South Carolina State Bulldogs football team. In 1972, he was named a first-team "Little All-American." This meant he was one of the best college players from smaller schools.
Playing for the Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos picked Barney Chavous in the 1973 NFL draft. He was chosen in the second round. He played for the Broncos from 1973 to 1985. This means he played for them for 13 years.
