Barsha Lekhi (बर्षा लेखी), born on May 5, 1993, is an inspiring young woman from Nepal. She is known as a model, an activist, and a winner of beauty pageants. In 2016, she won the title of Miss Nepal International. She also won the 'Missiology People's Choice' award. Later that year, she proudly represented Nepal at the Miss International contest in Japan.
Barsha studied Environmental Science at Patan Multiple Campus. She has worked with a program called NEFIN-REDD/CC Partnership, which helps protect the environment. Currently, she is studying for her Master's Degree in Environmental Science. She attends Jawaharlal Nehru University to continue her studies.
Barsha Lekhi's Journey
Barsha Lekhi started her journey in the Miss Nepal 2016 competition. She was competitor number 14. She worked hard and was crowned Miss Nepal International 2016. She also won another special award called Miss Popular.
A First for the Tharu Community
Barsha Lekhi made history by becoming the first Miss Nepal from the Tharu community. The Tharu are an indigenous group of people living in Nepal. This was a very important moment for her community.
Representing Nepal Globally
After winning Miss Nepal International, Barsha Lekhi went on to compete in the Miss International 2016 pageant. This big event was held on October 27, 2016. It took place in Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. She proudly represented her country on the world stage.
