Early Life and Training
Bartolomeo Carducci was born in Florence, a famous city in Italy. When he was young, he studied architecture and sculpture with a master named Bartolomeo Ammanati. He also learned painting from Federico Zuccari. This early training helped him become a well-rounded artist.
One of his first big projects was helping Zuccari finish a huge painting called The Last Judgment. This artwork was painted on the ceiling of the dome of Florence Cathedral.
Moving to Spain
Later, Bartolomeo Carducci traveled to Madrid, Spain, with his teacher, Federico Zuccari. In Spain, they worked on important art projects for the king. Bartolomeo helped paint the ceiling of the Escorial library. He also helped create the amazing frescos (wall paintings) in the cloisters of the Escorial palace.
Bartolomeo's brother, Vincenzo Carducci, also worked with them. After Bartolomeo passed away, Vincenzo took over his role as the main painter for King Philip III of Spain.
