Basilisk is a quiet, rural area in Queensland, Australia. It's part of the Cassowary Coast Region. According to the 2021 census, Basilisk has very few people living there, or even no people at all! It's mostly made up of natural landscapes.
Exploring Basilisk's Geography
This area is almost entirely covered by the Basilisk Range. This mountain range starts near sea level in the east. It then rises to several unnamed peaks, reaching heights of 200 to 400 meters.
Basilisk Range National Park
The middle and southern parts of Basilisk form the Basilisk Range National Park. This park helps protect the natural environment. While some land in the north is privately owned, it's usually not cleared for development. You'll only find a few small farming areas at the base of the mountains.
