The Division of Kennedy is a special area in Queensland, Australia. It's set up so that people living there can choose someone to represent them in the Australian Parliament. This area is called an electoral division.
Kennedy was one of the very first electoral divisions created in Australia. It was set up way back in 1901 for the first federal election. The division is named after Edmund Kennedy. He was a famous explorer who traveled through this part of Queensland a long time ago.
This division covers a huge part of Queensland. It includes many towns like Atherton, Babinda, Camooweal, Charters Towers, Cloncurry, Georgetown, Gordonvale, Hughenden, Ingham, Innisfail, Mareeba, Mount Isa, Normanton, and Tully.

Since 1966, the Division of Kennedy has mostly been represented by members of the Katter family. This includes Bob Katter Senior and his son, Bob Katter Junior. They are known for their independent and conservative political views. In the 2013 election, there was a noticeable change in how people voted. Fewer people voted for Mr. Katter than in previous elections.
