Bassett is a small town located in Mississippi County, Arkansas, in the United States. In 2020, about 124 people lived there. This was a decrease from 173 people counted in 2010.
The History of Bassett
Bassett has been around for a long time. The Bassett Cemetery was started before the late 1860s. The oldest grave marker there is from 1868.
In 1903, a railway called the St. Louis & San Francisco Railway built tracks through the town. However, the train station was built in a nearby town called Joiner, Arkansas. Bassett got its own post office the next year, in 1904. The town officially became a town on November 26, 1965.

Bassett is in the southern part of Mississippi County. You can find it at coordinates 35.535942 degrees North and -90.126052 degrees West.
A main road, U.S. Route 61, goes through Bassett. If you go northeast on this road, you'll reach Osceola, which is the county seat, about 16 miles away. If you go southwest, you'll get to Turrell, about 14 miles away.
Another road, Arkansas Highway 181, goes west from Bassett for about 2 miles. It connects to Interstate 55 at Exit 36.
