Batesville is a small place in eastern Butler County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

This community is located in the flat areas of southeast Missouri. You can find it along Missouri Route 51, a main road. It's situated between two other places: Broseley to the south and Rossville to the north. The larger city of Poplar Bluff is about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) to the northwest.

History of Batesville

Batesville got its name from Horace Bates, who owned the land where the community was built.
