Batna Province is a special area in Algeria, a country in North Africa. Think of it like a state or a large region. Its main city, and also its capital, is called Batna.
This province is home to over 1.1 million people, based on a 2008 count. It covers a large area of about 12,192 square kilometers (around 4,707 square miles). Besides the capital, other important towns you might hear about are Barika, Merouana, and Timgad. You can also find Belezma National Park here, which is a great place to explore nature!

How Batna Province is Governed
The province is led by a person called a Wāli. Think of a Wāli as a governor who helps run the province. The current Wāli is Mr. Bouazgui Abdelkader.
There's also a group called the PPA. This assembly helps make decisions for the province. Its president is Mr. Soltani El Arbi, who is part of a political group called the FLN. These leaders work together to make sure the province runs smoothly for everyone living there.
