Battagram District is a special area, or district, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The main city, also called Battagram, is the capital of this district. This means it's the most important city in the area.

How Battagram Became a District

Battagram became its own district in July 1993. Before that, it was a smaller area called a Tehsil and was part of Mansehra District. An important leader named Mr. Yousaf Khan Trand worked hard to make Battagram a separate district. He was a provincial minister and helped make this change happen.

Where is Battagram District?

Battagram District shares its borders with several other areas. It is next to Kohistan District, a tribal area known as Kala Dhaka (which means Black Mountain of Hazara), Shangla District, and the Malakand Division.

Parts of Battagram District

The district is divided into two main parts, which are still called Tehsils. These Tehsils help manage the different towns and villages within the district. Inside these two Tehsils, there are a total of 20 smaller areas called Union Councils.
