Early Life and Sports Journey
Bec grew up in Tasmania, Australia. When she was younger, she enjoyed many sports. She played basketball, did gymnastics, and competed in athletics. As a teenager, Bec found a new passion. In 2010, she discovered mixed martial arts. This sport helped her overcome personal challenges. It was then that she decided to become a professional MMA fighter.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Starting in Australia
Bec Rawlings is famous for her exciting and aggressive fighting style. She started her MMA training in Launceston, Tasmania, in 2010. To find more opportunities, she moved to Brisbane, Australia, in early 2011. Her first professional MMA fight was on October 15, 2011. It took place at BRACE 12 in Hobart, Tasmania.
In her first fight, Bec competed at bantamweight. She faced Rhiannon Thompson in a match that was called "fight of the night." Although she lost this first fight, she quickly bounced back. She won her next four fights in a row during 2012. These wins caught the attention of a big North American organization. This was the Invicta Fighting Championships.
Fighting in Invicta FC
In November 2012, Bec signed a contract with Invicta Fighting Championships. She joined their strawweight division. Her first fight for Invicta FC was a big one. She competed for the Invicta FC Strawweight Championship. She fought against Carla Esparza on January 5, 2013. Bec lost this championship fight by a decision from the judges.
Even though she lost, this fight was her first outside Australia. Her strong personality also helped her gain a lot of attention. She became very popular with fans. In fact, she was voted "2012 Favourite Female Fighter" by fans.
Bec's next fight in Invicta FC was on April 5, 2013. She faced Jasminka Cive and won by submission in the first round. Later, on July 13, 2013, she fought Mizuki Inoue. She lost this fight by a unanimous decision.
Joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship
The Ultimate Fighter TV Show
In December 2013, Bec's contract was moved to the UFC. The UFC is the biggest MMA organization in the world. They created a new women's strawweight division. They also announced a special TV show called The Ultimate Fighter. This show would crown the first UFC women's strawweight champion.
Bec was chosen to be on the show. She was picked by coach Gilbert Melendez. She fought against Tecia Torres in the first round. Bec lost this fight by a decision.
After The Ultimate Fighter
After the TV show, Bec continued to fight in the UFC. Her first fight was on December 12, 2014. She lost this fight by decision.
On May 10, 2015, Bec won her next UFC fight. She defeated Lisa Ellis by submission in the first round. This was a great comeback win for her.
Bec then faced Paige VanZant on August 27, 2016. She lost this fight by knockout in the second round. On February 4, 2017, she had a rematch with Tecia Torres. Bec lost this fight by a unanimous decision.
Moving to Flyweight

After finding success in bare-knuckle boxing, Bec signed with Bellator. This is another major MMA organization. Her first fight for Bellator was on October 25, 2019. She lost this fight by submission.
On February 22, 2020, Bec faced Elina Kallionidou in Bellator. She won this fight by a unanimous decision. In July 2021, it was announced that Bec was no longer fighting for Bellator.
Bare-Knuckle Boxing Career
Starting in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
In May 2018, news came out that Bec would join the Bare Knuckle FC. This is a sport where fighters punch each other without gloves. Her first fight was on June 2, 2018, at BKFC 1. She won this fight when her opponent could not continue.
Soon after her victory, Bec was awarded a special championship belt. It was the first Police Gazette Women's Featherweight World Championship.
Bec defended her title for the first time on August 25, 2018. She fought Britain Hart at BKFC 2. Bec won this fight by a split decision. On February 2, 2019, she defended her title again. She beat Cecilia Flores by unanimous decision at BKFC 4 in Mexico.
Return to BKFC
In July 2021, Bec signed a new contract with BKFC. She was scheduled to fight Britain Hart again on June 24, 2022. Bec lost this rematch by unanimous decision.
She then challenged Christine Ferea for the BKFC Women's Flyweight Championship. This fight happened on April 29, 2023. Bec lost by technical knockout. She fought Ferea again on December 2, 2023, and lost by unanimous decision.
Most recently, Bec faced Taylor Starling on January 25, 2025. She won this fight by unanimous decision.
Professional Boxing Career
Bec also tried professional boxing. Her first boxing match was on December 3, 2022. She fought Natasha Kurene and lost the fight by unanimous decision.
