Beinn Ruigh Choinnich is a hill found on the island of South Uist in Scotland. This island is part of the Outer Hebrides, a group of islands off Scotland's west coast. The hill looks over the port of Lochboisdale on the east side of South Uist.
Sometimes, people call this hill Ben Kenneth in English. Its name means 'the hill of Kenneth's slope'. No one knows for sure where the name "Kenneth" came from.

Every year, on the first Sunday in August, an exciting race takes place at Beinn Ruigh Choinnich. Competitors start at the Lochboisdale pier. They then run all the way to the very top of Beinn Ruigh Choinnich. After reaching the summit, they race back down to the pier. It sounds like a tough but fun challenge!
