Bénédicte Grimault (born April 8, 1966 – died August 11, 2020) was a talented French singer, songwriter, and actress. She was best known by her stage name, Belle du Berry. Many people remember her as the lead singer of the popular band Paris Combo.

About Belle du Berry
Belle du Berry was born Bénédicte Grimault in Berry-Bouy, a town near Bourges, France. She later moved to Paris to study filmmaking. While there, she became interested in the punk movement, which is a type of music and culture.
Early Music Career
Belle du Berry joined a band called Pervers Polymorphes Inorganisés (PPI). This is when she started using her stage name, Belle du Berry. In the late 1980s, her group performed with another band, Les Endimanchés, at a cinema in Belleville.
In 1992, Belle du Berry worked on a musical show called Les Champêtres de Joie. She helped Philippe Decouflé create the dances for the closing ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Forming Paris Combo
After these performances, the band Paris Combo was formed. This group became very successful. Their second album, Living-Room, sold so many copies that it was certified gold. The band toured for ten years, sharing their music with many fans.
Belle du Berry also worked with other artists and projects. She collaborated with Roger Planchon and Laurent Pelly on different music, theater, and film projects. She also wrote songs for musicians like Lokua Kanza.
Later Years
In 2009, Belle du Berry wrote new songs with Lewis, who played the trumpet and piano. They started to perform these new songs in a simpler way, with fewer instruments. Later, Denis Hénault-Parizel joined them as the bass guitarist, and Rémy Kaprielan became their drummer.
Belle du Berry passed away from cancer in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France, on August 11, 2020.
