Belmond is a city in Wright County, Iowa, United States. It is located along U.S. Route 69. Belmond is about 14 miles (23 km) from Clarion, which is the county seat. In 2020, the city had a population of 2,463 people.

History of Belmond
Belmond has faced some tough weather events. On October 14, 1966, a very strong tornado hit the community. It damaged or destroyed about 600 homes and 75 businesses. Six people sadly lost their lives, and large parts of the town were ruined.
Years later, on June 12, 2013, another tornado, an EF3, caused damage. It affected the northern areas of Belmond, harming several businesses and homes. The city was also impacted by big floods in June 2008, like many other places in Iowa.
